▏▎▍ • MEDIA  -  DMC3 STORYBOARDS

The following are a few storyboards which were found in the Devil May Cry 3 Note of Naught material archive. While working on this site, just these storyboards help alot in interpreting certain scenes within the game. For instance the cutscenes found in Mission 20 were just hard enough to interpret on its own. With these story boards, you see a different side, perhaps a bit more exaggerated than intended, of what the producers wanted, and also the things they've omitted from the final product. May I suggest comparing these story boards to their associating screencaps as a refresher if you haven't played the game for a while?

  ± Introduction
The part where Vergil and Dante charge towards each other. While watching the actual sequence you can perceive the ferocity and the speed which they are fighting.

± Mission 12: Vergil Encounters Beowulf
By this point, Beowulf is fully blind and is leading himself around the Temen-ni-Gru in search for Dante by smell. Unforunately he finds someone else. If you ask me, this isn't as exciting as the actual cutscene itself.

± Mission 13: Vergil having trouble with the door?!
After sacrificing much blood along with the amulets, Vergil is having a bit trouble opening the door to the demon world. As depicted in this story board, it's literally a door. Whereas in the game it's just a small pool.

± Mission 20: After the Fight
These are by far the most interesting storyboards provided by Note of Naught. You see a scene in which Vergil is on his hands and knees, something which wasn't seen in the final product. Perhaps just being on hands and knees was just too much for Vergil. Loss of pride, in other words. The final product only has him on one knee with one hand clenching towards his chest. The other interesting thing about this set of storyboards is after Dante delivers the final blow. You see Vergil glaring at his half of the amulet while shaking.

  ± Vergil's Omake
The scene when Vergil wakes up in the demon world. In the actual cutscene, Vergil is seen to be quite confident. Here, you see that there's blood by his mouth, the fact that he's bleeding in general, and that he's still shaking from his previous fight.
